RTG Bills Now Checks Spelling

Santa Monica, California; September 1, 2000 -- RTG has announced a new release of RTG Bills, its low-cost time and billing program for Windows. Included in this release is the ability to check the spelling of fee and expense entries.

"A spell checker was the most-requested enhancement to RTG Bills," according to Robert Hallem, president of RTG. "We are happy to add this capability, which we know will make our product more attractive to small firms and sole practitioners."

"We developed our own spell checking software, so we would have full control over the finished product," Hallem added. "Naturally, our dictionary includes common legal terms. We also eliminated many words that are unlikely to appear on a bill, to minimize the number of erroneous suggestions that appear when a word is misspelled."

Although the new release, RTG Bills Version 2, looks almost identical to previous versions, internally it uses more up-to-date software technology. RTG Bills Version 2 is 32-bit software, which means it should have better compatibility with current and future versions of Microsoft Windows. RTG Bills Version 2 also incorporates the latest relational database software, Version 4.0 of the Microsoft Jet database engine.

To make installation easier and more reliable, RTG Bills Version 2 uses the Wise Installation System from Wise Solutions.

RTG Bills is designed for small law firms and sole practitioners. It combines the ease-of-use of Windows with the power and reliability of a relational database. RTG Timer, included with RTG Bills, uses a computerized "stopwatch" so that attorneys can time their work as they perform it. RTG Timer can communicate with RTG Bills over a network, or it can be used independently on a notebook computer or a home PC.

Current RTG Bills customers can purchase RTG Bills and RTG Timer Version 2 for $25. For new users, the program is $75, which includes one license for RTG Timer.

RTG Bills and RTG Timer are compatible with Windows 98 and Windows 95, and with any network which supports Windows PCs. RTG offers free demonstration versions of RTG Bills and RTG Timer on its Web site at www.rtgsoftware.com so that potential buyers can evaluate the programs before they purchase them.
